Conditions that we may be able to prevent with a healthy diet, include cataracts which cause cloudy vision, age-related macular degeneration which can limit your eyesight glaucoma, dry eyes and poor night vision and here are five foods for our eyes health.

Spinach for Eyes Health

The first food that help boost our eyes health is spinach. Spinach as well as other dark leafy greens like kale, contain two antioxidants stored in the macula. That is at part of the retina that shields the eyes from damaging light. These antioxidants are lutein and zeaxanthin. lutian is a deep yellow pigment found in the leaves of plants and zeaxanthine, a carotenoid found in the retina of the eye and in many plants like spinach. Since the eye has a particularly high metabolic rate. They need a  lot of energy. So, there is an added need for antioxidant protection too.

Red peppers for Eyes Health

The second food that helped boost our eyes health is red peppers. Red peppers are not just a vegetable to make your throat burn, nose run and eyes water. Although the eye watering thing might actually be good. Red peppers contain vitamin C which is a water-soluble vitamin. IT is a powerful antioxidant and aside from helping ward off the common cold, vitamin C helps the body form and keep connective tissue including collagen that is found in the cornea of the eye. Vitamin C also helps keep your blood vessels healthy. including the delicate capillaries in the retina.

Dairy products for Eyes Health

The third food that helped boost our eyes health is dairy products. Dairy products such as milk and yogurt can be good for our eyes they contain vitamin E as well as the mineral zinc vitamin. Vitamin E protects the cornea while zinc helps bring that vitamin to the eyes from the liver. Zinc is found throughout the eye especially the retina and coin which is the vascular tissue that lies under the retina.  This important mineral helps with night vision as well as the prevention of cataracts. Dairy from grass-fed cows provides the most benefits. Dairy can be consumed throughout your day. You can drink a glass with a meal or enjoy it in coffee and tea or breakfast. Cereal yogurt is a healthy option for breakfast or as a snack.

Fish for Eyes Health

Another food that helped boost our eyes health is fish. well we’ve talked a lot about plants with vitamins particularly vitamins A C and E that are needed for healthy eyesight. However the thing about those vitamins is they are essentially useless without fat to carry them where they need to go. They are cold fat soluble vitamins one great way to get that all-important fat is through fish. Particularly fresh salmon and tuna help in this.  These fish are meaty and full of omega-3 fatty acid that helps your blood vessels healthy and strong these fatty acids help intraocular flow it flows through the pupil. Thus these play a key role in preventing dry eye syndrome and glaucoma.

Eggs for Eyes health

The last food that helped to keep our eyes health great is Egg. Another superfood that contain just about everything you need. One hard-boiled egg will give you potassium, vitamin A, vitamin D, vitamin b12, iron, calcium and magnesium, all thing needed for healthy and strong eyes. Eggs are an excellent source of lutein and zeaxanthin which can reduce the risk of age-related sight loss. Just like spinach X contain this powerful antioxidant ludian, that is responsible for the yellow color in the yolk. That helps fight macular degeneration and as we learned earlier zeaxanthin may protect eyes against damage due to ultraviolet radiation from the Sun. Keep in mind, however, that these powerful protectors are only found in the yolk. So, keep the yellow stuff in if you want to see all the pretty colors this world has to offer.
